Hawaii Community College this week announced it’s the latest higher education institution to fall victim to a ransomware attack.

The two-year community college said it’s working with federal authorities to investigate the incident. The college temporarily shut down its network after being notified of the attack on June 13.

In a blog post dated June 19, ransomware group NOESCAPE claimed to have stolen 65GB of data from the institution. This claim has not been verified publicly by university officials.
