Flatiron School redesigns coding bootcamp

Flatiron School announced this week it’s redesigning its courses and lectures for a future in which companies increasingly allow their employees to work from the office or remotely. Coding bootcamps are generally unaccredited programs teaching students skills they need to switch careers or progress in their jobs. For New York’s Flatiron School, which was founded in 2012 and acquired by the coworking space company WeWork in 2017, that includes programs in software development, data science, product design and analytics. McGraw Hill acquires longtime software partner

McGraw Hill has acquired the developer of SIMnet, a Microsoft Office 365 training tool that the education publisher distributed and marketed for years, the publisher announced last week. The software company, Triad Interactive, has partnered with McGraw Hill for 20 years. McGraw Hill, which publishes textbooks and other learning materials, focused on expanding online offerings in recent years and the majority of its billings are now digital. Emily has it.

Remote campuses will look different everywhere

Just as in other industries, higher education institutions’ plans on how and when to bring employees back to the office depend largely on the individual employees, higher education leaders said Tuesday during an online panel hosted by the consulting firm Deloitte. Student experience and making sure the faculty and staff needed for student needs are accessible on-campus are the top priorities, but decisions about other workers, who may have realized their jobs can be done entirely remotely and gotten used to working from home, are still in progress, university leaders said during the event.
